Making money from the net has changed in so many ways since the giant that is now Google, came up with the idea of AdSense. Some ways of making money from the net have become easier and some haven't.
I don't think any other advertising system has ever had as much impact as Google AdSense in terms of the way webmasters, advertisers and visitors treat internet marketing.
AdWords was already in existence and being used extensively before AdSense was created. As now, you could get your advert shown at the top of Google's search results dependent upon your chosen keywords but your website didn't have to be top ranked to get your advertisement shown. As a result, the price of advertising became lower and the profitability of a new website was now longer a pie in the sky idea.
With the advent of AdSense, online advertisers had another way of getting their ads seen because they would be published, not only on search result pages, but on any web page which matched in any way with your chosen keywords. Gone are the days of new and low ranked websites having to advertise offline in order for anyone to find out about them.
Highly paid advertising companies are no longer needed to publicise your website and the cost of advertising has plummeted because if your advert doesn't attract clicks, you don't pay.
All any webmaster needs to do now is sign up with AdWords, fund their account, create a small and punch advert with relevant keywords and the rest of the work is done by Google.
In addition, a publisher can earn from their website with AdSense as long as the content is relevant, fresh and doesn't contravene Google's policies. As a result, good websites are getting better with content being frequently updated so visitors are happy too.
The problem the publisher faces now though is not how to earn enough to maintain his website but how to get it ranked in Google so that those visitors arrive.
Visitors seem to like Google sponsored ads because Google is a big name that they can trust so are more likely to click on an advert.
Unfortunately, there are those who abuse AdSense by creating websites stuffed with keywords and not offering the visitor a good experience. This is tantamount to click fraud as a visitor is bound to click on AdSense to get away from the rubbish.
Of course, such sites can be reported to Google and their accounts will swiftly be closed down if they're found out but Google can't legislate for the corrupt or the greedy so in general AdSense has changed making money from the net for the better.

AdSense is an advertising program run by Google which is also known as Google AdSense. What this program does is match the need-to-advertise by vendors with the need-to-see by consumers. As internet usage grows apace and increasing amount of commerce moves online, there are hungry advertisers just willing to place their promotions in front of the right people.
There are basically two types of traffic available on the internet, untargeted and targeted. The untargeted traffic is simply a waste of time, there is no two ways about it. These are people who just happen to come across your promotion whilst they were looking for something unrelated to what you are offering. They may just glance at it and simply move on.
Targeted traffic on the other hand, is what every advertiser and marketer dreams and strives for. This traffic is actually looking for what you have to offer and when it comes across your promotion, it is very likely to follow through by clicking and taking subsequent action.
Google AdSense displays adverts on websites that have enrolled for the program and who have then activated AdSense. These adverts are either text, image, video or rich media based. So how does this actually work?
Let's say you wanted to search something on Google and you typed in your keyword/key-phrase in the search box. Up comes a site which you think contains what you are looking for. If this site is AdSense activated then as soon as you open it, you will see adverts, usually in the side panes of the website or even at the bottom of posts, which are surprisingly apt for you.

You too can capitalise on this enormous market by applying for an AdSense account for your website. Once approved, all you need to do is choose what dimension of advert you would like to display and 'hey presto!', adverts will start appearing soon after. You will be paid on performance which is the number of clicks placed on these adverts. How much this converts to monetary value is determined by Google but you can see all your performance statistics on the Google AdSense website.
The potential for earning from Google AdSense is enormous but you need a relatively high traffic site(s). It has been reported that some people earn in access of 100,000 USD a year just with AdSense.
Do not be tempted to cheat the system by clicking on your AdSense advert multiple times hoping you can accelerate your earnings. Google is smart and it has systems in place to identify exactly this form of click fraud. If you are found out, you are likely to be banned and then it will be difficult for you to get back into the program.

AdSense Application Tips

Google AdSense can bring a lot of additional income from your website, but a simple search around on the Internet and you will see that getting approved is far from easy.
So what kind of things do you need to do to make sure that your application gets approved?
Well you need to have original content and lots of it. Typically if you are running a blog I would suggest that around 60 to 80 posts is a good idea and that they are all your own work. If you just cut and paste articles from another source on to your blog then it is highly unlikely that you will get approved as it will simply look like a made for AdSense site.
It is also a good idea to add an "About us" page, and put a brief bio of yourself up on it, as this shows that you are human and it is not just a spammy blog made with the sole intention of making money from ads.

Not all topics are well suited for a profitable AdSense Website. You want to make sure that you're getting a decent amount of money per click. It's much easier to get to $10 per day when you're paid a dollar per click than when you're paid 5 cents. Here are two methods I use to find profitable niches.
Using ClickBank - The first way is to use ClickBank.com to find profitable niches. This is a market place for information products. The product sellers here do a good job at picking niches that people like to spend money on. Browse through the different sections of the market place at ClickBank and find topics or niches that sell a lot of eBooks. They are a great starting point for your AdSense websites. As an added bonus, you'll find affiliate products you can promote on your site later on for extra cash.
Using Google AdWords - Another great way to determine how profitable a niche is, is to go right into Google AdWords. You can set up a free account. Start playing with the keyword tool and check on various niches. Google will give you an estimate of how much each click will cost you. The more it will cost you to advertise on the Google AdWords end, the more you can expect to get per click via AdSense.
Set Up Your Website

If you already have a website that is getting 1,000 or more visitors a day - you can make much more than a few pennies.
The cost to an advertiser is CPC or cost per click - and the other side of the coin is the domain owner - for whom the $1.55 is EPC or earnings per click. Simple right? Right!
